Yoga

The last few weeks have been nothing short of challenging for me. We’ve gotten back into the swing of school after our winter break, but I’ve been sick with the flu and a sinus infection. No fun. But I’m finally on the mend. I’m signed up for the 10K River Bank Run in May and I’ve started to prepare for that. I’m drinking lots of superfood juice and taking my vitamins to keep my energy up. There are so many things I want to do. The fabric arrived last week for my special project for the UICA Live Coverage Event on Feb 18. We had a big snow storm this week: 16″ in 24 hours! I had two days off of school, and used my extra time to make a yoga mat bag for a friend.

 

Thinking about yoga, I’ve been looking for a way to find more balance in my life, have more energy, and relieve some stress. I took a few yoga classes in college and loved it, but haven’t made time for an individual yoga practice since then. I’ve heard lots of great things about hot house yoga. They keep the temperature at 95 degrees, which helps you sweat out toxins and increases flexibility.  We have a new hot house yoga studio and I’m gonna start a trial month membership tomorrow. I don’t always deal with the heat very well in the summer, but I’m hoping that my body will be able to handle this. I figure it’ll probably help with my 10K prep, too.
